Estate Planning

Estate planning is important for anyone who owns assets, has a family or runs a business. It is particularly important for people to receive professional advice to ensure that their estate is administered in accordance with their wishes.

Often people mistakenly believe that they have taken care of their affairs, when in fact they do not have a Power of Attorney or Will or the same is invalid or does not reflect their wishes. Of course, when it is finally discovered that the proper mechanisms were not put in place in one's estate, it is often too late and can cause terrible disputes within families.  Wills should be reviewed every three to five years or if one of the following occurs:
* marriage
* divorce or separation
* birth of children or grandchildren
* death of executor or a beneficiary; and/or
* change in financial circumstances. Another consideration overlooked by many, is whether their Will takes advantage of certain taxation and asset protection laws available to them which could have a large impact on the size of one's estate for the beneficiaries. By receiving professional advice from the team at McCarthy Durie Ryan Neil Solicitors, a Redlands law firm which has been established for over 28 years, one can have the peace of mind in the knowledge that they are being looked after by professionals who have the technical expertise and experience to cater for their estate planning needs. If you would like to update your Will or Power of Attorney or to obtain estate planning advice, please call Nathan Hardman at MDRN Solicitors ph:3245 5100. If you mention you are a referral from Robins Accountants you will also be entitled to a 10% discount.
